SOWITEC group reaches next project milestones in various South American countries

Sonnenbühl, 24 April 2023 – SOWITEC group (SOWITEC), one of the leading developers of renewable energy projects in the wind and solar sectors, is consistently pushing ahead with the development of its solar projects in South America. The company was able to secure the grid connection in Colombia for three solar projects with a total capacity of 426 MW, which are expected to be commissioned in 2025 and 2026. In addition, SOWITEC received the grid connection commitment for a solar project with a capacity of 694 MW in Brazil. There, the start of operations is scheduled for September 2026.

SOWITEC has been present in Brazil since 2002 with a branch office in Salvador da Bahia and in Colombia since 2012 with a branch office in Barranquilla. The current pipeline of wind and solar projects is 16,770 MW in Brazil and 1,400 MW in Colombia.
