Inside Information / Other news releasesPress Release Half Year Results 2026
Toulouse, FRANCE, Fullerton, CA, UNITED STATES, September 23, 2026, 8:00 p.m. CEST – ABIONYX Pharma, (FR0012616852 – ABNX – eligible for the PEA PME), a next-generation biopharmaceutical company developing innovative therapies for sepsis and critical care based on a proprietary apoA-I technology platform, today announced its financial results for the first half of 2026. Key Developments in the Consolidated Financial StatementsAs mentioned in the announcement of half-year revenue on August 27, the business dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative therapies—particularly for sepsis and the rare disease LCAT deficiency (also known as Norum disease)—aimed at improving or even saving patients’ lives, has not yet generated any revenue during this half-year period. ABIONYX Pharma continues to provide its biopharmaceutical product free of charge in connection with applications for compassionate use authorization (AAC) for Norum disease. The ABIONYX Pharma Group reported consolidated half-year revenue of €1.9 million for the first half of 2026, which is attributable solely to its subsidiary IRIS Pharma’s contract research organization (CRO) activities in ophthalmology. Based on the information available as of the date of this press release, the Company anticipates that IRIS Pharma’s revenue for fiscal year 2026 will remain broadly stable compared to that of fiscal year 2025. As of June 30, 2026, research and development expenses totaled 570 K€, compared to 692 K€ as of June 30, 2025. Administrative and selling expenses totaled 1,807 K€ as of June 30, 2026, compared to 1,876 K€ as of June 30, 2025. After accounting for these expenses, operating income improved from a loss of 2,330 K€ as of June 30, 2025, to a loss of 2,270 K€ as of June 30, 2026. The financial result was a loss of 2,543 K€ as of June 30, 2026, compared to a profit of 32 K€ in the first half of 2025. This financial result is attributable to the , fair-value measurement of financial debt related to the Fenja straight bonds (recognition of a financial expense of 1.6 million euros) and to the financial costs incurred during the issuance of these straight bonds. The net loss amounted to 4,814 K€ as of June 30, 2026, compared to a loss of 2,306 K€ as of June 30, 2025. As of June 30, 2026, the ABIONYX Pharma Group’s consolidated cash and cash equivalents stood at €26.9 million following the financing transaction announced on June 18 and prior to receiving Research Tax Credits and grants under the France 2030 plan. The Company notes that it is a recipient of the “i-Démo” call for projects under the France 2030 plan and has secured €8.7 million in government funding to combat sepsis—the third leading cause of death worldwide—of which €6.2 million remains to be received. OutlookThe Company remainsfully focused on executing itsstrategy and rigorously implementing its announced programs, particularly GMP production for sepsis and LCAT deficiency, as well as preparing for the next regulatory steps related to the Phase 2b trial for sepsis.
