SOLUM's flagship Newton Pro ESL supports accurate shelf communication, hygiene and operational efficiency across Mix Markt Süd's distinctive fresh food stores.

ESCHBORN, Germany, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Mix Markt Süd is strengthening its fresh food retail operations with SOLUM's Newton Pro electronic shelf labels (ESLs) and digital signages across 500 stores. Serving customers with a broad assortment of Eastern European products, fresh food and delicatessen specialties, the retailer requires retail technologies that combine reliable performance with clear and effective shelf communication. To meet these requirements, Mix Markt Süd selected SOLUM's flagship Newton Pro ESL, complemented by its digital signage.

Newton Pro combines features well suited to demanding food retail environments. Thanks to its IP68-rated protection, the labels can be submerged in water and washed, helping meet the high hygiene standards required in fresh food environments. Together with its exceptionally long battery life, the solution provides reliable long-term performance. The programmable button can also support operational processes directly at the shelf edge, creating additional opportunities to streamline store workflows.

Combined with reliable hardware and Aims, SOLUM's dedicated ESL management software, Mix Markt Süd expects to reduce lifetime operating costs while building a stable, cost-effective foundation for sustainable store operations.

Mix Markt Süd also uses SOLUM's digital signage to strengthen in-store communication, presenting promotions, product highlights and brand content that enrich the customer experience across the store.

Andre Vedmedenko, IT Project Coordinator, Mix Markt Süd, said, "In fresh food retail, maintaining accurate shelf information and a clean, well-organized store environment is essential for both employees and customers.  We look forward to improving operational efficiency by reducing pricing errors and easing the workload for store staff, as well as delivering a better in-store experience for our customers."

Jochen Goppold, Senior Sales Manager, SOLUM Europe GmbH, said, "Supporting retailers with reliable technology, durable hardware and long-term value is central to SOLUM's approach. From our experience with grocery retailers across Germany, we understand the operational challenges they face daily. We are pleased to support Mix Markt Süd in strengthening store performance and building a dependable foundation for sustainable digital operations."
