Carrefour strengthens its leadership in convenience retail in France with the acquisition of CodifrancePress release October 19th, 2026 Carrefour strengthens its leadership in convenience retail in France with the acquisition of CodifranceCarrefour announces that it has entered into an agreement with Colruyt Group to acquire Codifrance, a French specialist in affiliation and convenience food distribution. Codifrance supplies approximately 3,100 customers in France. The company employs nearly 380 people; it operates three distribution centers. For the 2025/26 financial year, it generated €307 million in sales. The enterprise value of Codifrance for this transaction amounts to €152 million. Strategic rationale This acquisition is fully in line with the execution of Carrefour 2030. In France, the Group already supports independent retailers, notably through the Proxi banner, which has over 1,500 stores. The transaction will consolidate Carrefour's leadership in convenience retail and strengthen its ability to support independent retailers by leveraging Codifrance's customers, logistics infrastructure, and the expertise of its teams. Structure and next steps The completion of the transaction remains subject, in particular, to the prior approval of the French Competition Authority, as well as the fulfillment of other customary conditions precedent. Closing is expected during the first half of 2027. Alexandre Bompard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Carrefour, stated: “This transaction is fully in line with the strategic objective set by Carrefour 2030 to pursue our growth in convenience retail and to make selective acquisitions of high-value assets. Codifrance is a recognized company, driven by experienced teams and close to independent retailers. This excellent French business is highly complementary to Carrefour Proximité, and I am delighted to open this new chapter with its teams, as well as with the retailers who place their trust in them.” ContactsInvestor Relations Shareholder Relations Group Communications Press release October 19th, 2026 About the Carrefour GroupWith a multi-format network of over 15,500 stores in more than 40 countries, the Carrefour Group is one of the world’s leading food retailers.
