Berlin, Germany and Oslo, Norway, 28 May 2026. Eckert & Ziegler SE (ISIN DE0005659700), a world-leading specialist in isotope-related components, equipment and services for nuclear medicine and radiation therapy, today signed a collaboration and supply agreement with Thor Medical, a leading emerging supplier of alpha-emitters for next-generation precision cancer treatment. The partnership will accelerate the development of lead-212 (Pb-212) based therapies by strengthening the supply and manufacturing base for the isotope, thereby supporting the growing number of biotech and pharmaceutical companies developing lead-212 based therapies.

Due to its favorable in-body chemistry, rapid clearance profile and suitability for theranostic applications, lead-212 has emerged as one of the most promising isotopes in targeted alpha therapy. Under the terms of the agreement, Thor Medical will initially supply lead-212 to Eckert & Ziegler for preclinical research and development. Both companies will also explore how to further integrate their complementary capabilities in isotope production and radiopharmaceutical manufacturing, with the aim of scaling up production capacity over time.

“Eckert & Ziegler has proven itself as a reliable enabler for the radiopharmaceutical industry. When an isotope like lead-212 has the potential to open up new therapeutic avenues, we are taking responsibility in this area. Thor Medical has quietly built a leading technology platform and strong production capabilities for high-purity medical isotopes and precursor materials, making the company a strong strategic fit. We look forward to further strengthening our position as an integrated radiopharmaceutical one-stop-shop through this collaboration”, said Dr. Harald Hasselmann, Chief Executive Officer of Eckert & Ziegler SE.

Eckert & Ziegler combines radioisotope supply with fully integrated radiopharmaceutical research, development and manufacturing services. Their GMP-compliant CDMO services bridge the gap for biotech and pharma firms lacking necessary in-house radiopharmaceutical production capabilities.

“This collaboration reflects a strategic alignment between Thor Medical and Eckert & Ziegler. It lays out how our isotope supply and technology can be embedded within leading development and manufacturing platforms, expanding our presence through Eckert & Ziegler’s impressive global network. Together, we are well positioned to support the continued growth of the radiopharmaceutical market by enabling more lead-212 based assets to advance from early research into formal development programs,” said Jasper Kurth, Chief Executive Officer of Thor Medical.

Thor Medical’s technology platform has been developed and validated through pilot operations at Herøya Industrial Park since early 2024 with product sales and delivery to leading industry players since 2025. Thor Medical is currently commissioning its first commercial production facility, AlphaOne, which is expected to commence production in the third quarter of 2026.
