EMERAM invests in Solar Manager AG, a leading provider of intelligent home energy management systems

Experienced growth partner to support further expansion of the Swiss HEMS specialist

Kitzbühel, April 2026 – Funds advised by EMERAM have invested in the technology company Solar Manager AG (“Solar Manager”). Founded in 2018 in Muri, Switzerland, the company develops a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) that holistically controls and optimizes energy flows in households - from photovoltaic systems and storage solutions to heat pumps and e-mobility.

With this transaction, EMERAM reinforces its strategy of partnering with high-growth technology companies in the fields of energy transition, digital transformation, and health & wellbeing.

Solar Manager has successfully established itself in the market with a scalable B2B2C distribution model. The company works closely with wholesalers and their installation partners, offers white-label solutions for large installation companies, municipal utilities, and energy service providers, and is systematically expanding OEM partnerships with manufacturers of battery storage systems and heat pumps to integrate its software directly into hardware solutions.

Driven by ongoing electrification, the expansion of renewable energy, and rising demand for energy efficiency and grid flexibility, Solar Manager has achieved above-average growth in recent years. With the establishment of its German subsidiary three years ago, the company has taken the next step and is now one of the leading players in Switzerland and Germany.

“Solar Manager already supports more than 50,000 households in managing their energy intelligently and maximizing self-consumption from renewable sources,” says Andreas Kuhn, Managing Director and co-founder of Solar Manager alongside Corinne Kuhn and Hans Fischer. “With EMERAM, we have gained an experienced growth partner who supports us with strategic expertise and a strong network in the energy sector. Together, we aim to further expand our market position and actively shape the energy transition. Our goal is to become the leading holistic energy management solution in Europe and to play a key role in shaping future topics such as bidirectional charging and the seamless integration of a wide range of energy producers and consumers into the energy system.”

Matthias Obermeyr, Partner at EMERAM, adds: “The market for intelligent home energy management systems is experiencing strong growth. Increasingly, property owners want to connect their photovoltaic systems, battery storage, and electric vehicles and actively participate in the energy market. The Solar Manager team has built a technologically leading company with a compelling business model in a short period of time and has established itself as a technology leader. As a business development partner, we aim to further expand the recurring software business, drive expansion in Germany, and jointly enter additional European markets. We believe that, together, we can position Solar Manager as a European champion.”

As part of the transaction, EMERAM was advised by Strategy& (commercial due diligence), Base Camp (ESG & technical due diligence), Radial (financial due diligence), and Schellenberg Wittmer (legal & tax). The sellers were advised by Wenger Vieli (legal & tax).

ABOUT Solar Manager AG – www.solarmanager.ch: Solar Manager is a leading and fast-growing provider of a Home Energy Management System (HEMS), enabling homeowners to intelligently control and optimize their energy consumption. The system seamlessly integrates local energy generation from photovoltaic installations with battery storage systems, heat pumps, EV charging stations, and other energy consumers, while incorporating dynamic energy market pricing. This significantly enhances the profitability of customers’ energy systems and reduces overall energy costs. The manufacturer-independent platform is compatible with more than 700 third-party devices, including inverters, battery storage systems, heat pumps, and electric vehicle charging stations.

The company also provides installers and energy service providers with a manufacturer-agnostic solution, enabling them to complement their existing offerings or establish new business areas. Its strategic objective is to expand across Europe and further strengthen its position as a leading independent provider of energy management systems.
