Gimv signs an agreement to acquire Groupe Cap Vert, France’s leading multi-specialist provider of tree and vegetation critical management services, from Ambienta.

Antwerp (BE) & Paris (FR), June 25, 2026, 07:30 CET

Gimv signs an agreement to acquire Groupe Cap Vert, France’s leading multi-specialist provider of tree and vegetation critical management services, from Ambienta.

Gimv announces that it has signed an agreement to acquire Groupe Cap Vert from Ambienta, in partnership with Eric Girot and the management team. The transaction is intended to support Cap Vert’s next phase of development by accelerating its organic growth, strengthening its multi-specialist expertise, and consolidating its market position in France and across Europe.

Founded in 1984, Cap Vert is France’s leading multi-specialist provider of tree and vegetation critical management services. The Group is renowned for its technical expertise and unique portfolio of specialist services, including urban and peri-urban tree pruning, vegetation management around critical infrastructure, ecological engineering, landscape development and maintenance, as well as irrigation and fountain systems. With a nationwide footprint supported by a dense network of nearly 60 branches, the Group serves a diverse client base comprising local authorities, infrastructure operators and private-sector customers.

In a market driven by urban greening initiatives, biodiversity conservation and the adaptation of infrastructure to climate-related challenges, Cap Vert has developed a unique multi-specialist platform model organized around dedicated areas of expertise. This structure enables the Group to address its clients’ specific needs and deliver large-scale, high-value technical services. Cap Vert also stands out for its recognized expertise in ecological engineering, supported by proprietary innovations and niche capabilities in the preservation, restoration and enhancement of natural ecosystems.

Cap Vert has expanded through the gradual integration of local specialist businesses, leveraging their strong regional presence, agility and technical know-how.

Backed by Ambienta since December 2021 and under the leadership of Eric Girot, the Group’s CEO, Cap Vert has become a leading player in its market. Generating nearly EUR 180 million in revenue, driven by strong organic growth, the Group now employs more than 1,200 people. It has also completed more than 18 strategic acquisitions, enabling it to broaden its service offering and expand its geographic footprint across France, establishing itself as one of the sector’s leading consolidation platforms.

Gimv’s investment alongside Eric Girot and the management team will equip Cap Vert with the capital, expertise and strategic support required to accelerate its development in France and across Europe, while further strengthening its local footprint and organizational capabilities. The Group intends to continue consolidating its market and expanding its portfolio of specialist services and innovative solutions that support the environmental transition of local communities and territories.

With this investment, Cap Vert will rank among the ten largest participations in Gimv’s current portfolio. The transaction is fully in line with Gimv’s strategy of accelerating its growth through selected, high-conviction platform investments of significant scale.

Press release

Eric Girot, CEO of Cap Vert, declares: “We are delighted to welcome Gimv as our new partner to support our ambitious growth strategy. Throughout the sale process, we were particularly impressed by Gimv’s in-depth understanding of our business and its ability to move quickly and decisively. Their sector expertise and extensive European network will be valuable strengths to support the next phase of our development.”

Nicolas de Saint Laon, Head of Gimv France, and François-Xavier Rico, Senior Principal Sustainable Cities, add: “We are excited to partner with Eric Girot and his team as Groupe Cap Vert embarks on its next phase of growth. The management team has achieved an outstanding track record, building a unique multi-specialist platform that combines recognized technical expertise, strong local presence, an entrepreneurial culture, and the ability to address its clients’ critical needs. The Group is ideally positioned to benefit from the favourable structural trends underpinning its markets and to act as a natural consolidator in what remains a highly fragmented sector. We are therefore particularly proud to have earned Eric and his team’s trust in our ability to support this ambitious growth project, which aligns perfectly with the investment themes of our Sustainable Cities platform.”

No further financial details of the transaction will be disclosed.
